Hi, my name is Gwynne and I have had a lifelong passion for knitting (yes, I’m a knitaholic!). It started with my mother giving me her scrap yarns and teaching me how to knit a striped stocking hat longer than I was at the time.  I just kept knitting and knitting and knitting…. I wore that stocking hat proudly!

Later, after I graduated from college, I took several knitting and weaving classes at the Weaving Workshop located at that time on Diversey Avenue in Chicago (sadly, it no longer exists).  My passion for knitting stayed with me during my first career as a mortgage banker/broker.  I decided to dive in head first into my second career in 1995 as a  store owner of CloseKnit, Inc. in Evanston, Illinois.

I sold the store in 2004 and moved to Eugene, Oregon with my husband, Jack Wheeler.  I am a prolific knitter and have decided to share my items with the world!  I especially love creating wearable art with vibrant colored and textured yarns as well as knitting simple and classic pieces, too.
